"After years of playing football [soccer] in Scotland and mainland Europe I decided to turn what made me happy into my chosen career path. I studed Sports Science at the University of Stirling in Scotland, playing Soccer for 4 years there, as well as with many youth professional teams. I have worked in Sports Medicine and rehabilitation, personal training, educational sports and a number of years supporting children with learning differences; My love of football and how children can develop as individuals through the science and beauty of soccer, has grown every day...
I believe that each child is truly unique, and develop and express themselVES in many wonderful ways. I encourage creative freedom in all I teach, and feel sports are a wonderful vehicle in which to truly express yourself.
I'd love to talk to you about how we can work on your own ambitions, your childs desires and how we can work as a team to achieve this.. See you soon!
About our S.P.A.SOCCER programs:
'Soccer Performance Academy': Ages 9-14 (Boys and Girls)
Our Soccer Performance Academy sessions for Boys and Girls ages 9-14, will focus on improving touch, awareness and comfort on the ball. Work with Coach Calveley in a small group environment enhancing the number and quality of touches on the ball. Soccer is not just about control on the ball, but movement and awareness with out the ball, and anticipation of the game. We can help train children to think for themselves, to become aware of and understand their surroundings, and help them make positive choices for themself on the field. We learn through making mistakes, through trying things, and there is truly more than one way of doing something. Express yourself through the game.
Our own understanding of soccer and European Football over the last 20 years has enabled us to recognise skills, tactics and an overall understanding of the game which inherently makes the difference and can be just the advantage you desire...
Make a difference to your game and gain that competitive edge you need!

'S.P.A. 'Just Play': Ages 3 - 8 (Boys & Girls)
Learn and develop soccer skills through fun and exciting games and activities. 'Play' is one of the most important development periods for children, just allowing them to think for themself, have their own ideas, make mistakes, have fun, and learn from it. Our 'Just Play' Soccer program encourages exactly that. Physical development shall be fused in the program as players develop skills in movement, coordination, mobility, balance, agility and flexibility. Players will learn to enjoy working with others of their own age, as well as developing ideas on respect and competitiveness. Soccer represents just a small part of what is on offer through our 5 week training programs - Just a small taster of what is available and how a routine can be beneficial to effective learning to become all a child wants to be. If you enjoy something, then it is inevitible that you can and indeed will be good at it! Enjoy and express yourself through Soccer - Just Play......
Be part of the success story from grass roots!
FUTSAL: Ages 9-14 (Boys & Girls)
Futsal is a great skill developer, demanding quick reflexes, and fast thinking, it is an exciting game for children as well as adults. The game is very safe, simple and fun to play. Just by playing with the ball develops precise ball control and technical skill, agility, lightening reflexes and decision making. As the balls have less bounce they tend to stay in play longer and promote close ball control. After playing in enclosed areas and learning to think and react quickly, players find when they play to the full game they react well under pressure. Playing in enclosed areas develops creativity; players are also constantly placed in demanding decision making situations in enclosed areas which is a major reason why Futsal is one of the finest teachers of the quick pass and move.
Futsal quickly develops skills required for soccer: - balance, motor ability, agility and co-ordination, ball mastery, accurate and quick passing and receiving, perception insight and awareness. As Futsal is fast and action packed, fitness is improved while learning and having fun. We find children love playing Futsal. It is exciting, many goals are scored and the game is devoid of complex rules such as off side. Children learn so much faster if they enjoy the game and spend a lot of time playing with the ball.

Futsal helps a lot because you need to think quickly. It's a more dynamic game and today in Europe there's not much space so you need to think quicker and futsal has helped me a lot with that. Futsal is one of my passions. I always loved to play.
